Overview

The backyard agriculture project focuses on the following rural economic issues:

·        Nutrition Rescue

·        Soil Replacement

·        Job Creation

·        Technology Transfer

·        Strengthening Local Economies

The project’s goal is to increase the availability of eggs, pork and garden produce for local consumers.  Chickens and pigs are hygienically raised on top of a compost area that builds garden soil additives. Since it is impossible for the small farmer to prosper selling live pork to processors, small-scale project-owned meat processing plants are provided. This creates increased profit margins and provides meat cutting employment. Leading edge computer technology assures accounting accuracy and limits abuses of the capital.   When possible, bartering garden produce for pork is encouraged. Bartering invites members of the local community to participate in the project.
